New York Governor Andrew Cuomo on Marijuana Legalization
Cuomo: “Let’s legalize the adult-use of recreational marijuana once and for all.”

Six months later…
Cuomo: “But if they are starting to suggest that I need to twist arms, uh… that’s a bad sign. Because arm-twisting doesn’t work. And it means they don’t have the political support.”

But we have the support of 65% of New Yorkers!
To pass the MRTA:
We need 32 YES votes to pass our legislation.
We have 24 cosponsors. An unheard of number!
At least 8 Senators are voting “YES,” but NOT cosponsoring.
Plus several republicans will support it, if it comes to the floor.
We just need the bill to come to the Senate floor, which can only be done by the Leader, Andrew Stewart-Cousins.
Governor Cuomo: 518.474.8390
Leader Stewart-Cousins: 518.455.2585
Speaker Heastie: 518.455.3791
I’m a constituent from [neighborhood]. I want to urge you to support adult-use marijuana legalization by passing the Marijuana Regulation and Taxation Act (S.1527/A.1617) immediately!
