Arkansas is another step closer to launching its medical marijuana program in the state.
Today regulators finalized the list of dispensary operators. The next step is finalizing locations for their dispensaries.
Officials in Texarkana say the city is being considered for two dispensaries, and right now the approved developers are busy deciding which sites would be best for business.
“We feel like in a couple of weeks we’ll know more about who is going to be interested and who is going to develop. And who is going to open up a dispensary here in Texarkana,” said Kenny Haskin, city manager.
Haskin said possible locations include sites along Interstate 30 and in central Texarkana.
He said the city has put in place regulations to ensure dispensaries are not located within a close proximity to schools and churches.
